Presidential Transition Team Formed

Doron Clark, chair of the Hamline University Board of Trustees, has formed a Presidential Transition Team to implement a robust on-boarding process for incoming President Mayme Hostetter, support her in the first year of her presidency as she learns about our community and establishes herself in her role, and help her build connections to alumni and community leaders beyond campus.

The team includes representatives from the Board of Trustees (Paul Ablan ’82, Doron Clark ’00, Cindy Gregorson ’81, Brenda Edmondson Heim ’77, and Andrea Mowery ’93); the faculty (Jeff Bailey); the student body (Anna Beaudry); the University Leadership Team (Mary Jensen, Betsy Radtke ’89, and Cathy Wassberg); and staff (Tammie Hertz MSL ’20 and Amy Pak). The team’s work will be supported by Maya Kirkhope, vice president and senior consultant of Academic Search. Maya has assisted Hamline with several leadership searches during the past two years and is very seasoned in presidential transitions.

The Presidential Transition Team convened for its first meeting on Tuesday, May 20, and will meet monthly for the next 9-12 months. In the coming weeks and months, there will be many opportunities for the broader Hamline community to connect with President Hostetter and participate in the onboarding process.  The transition team is still building Dr. Hostetter’s calendar and scope of activities and seeking to match those to the rhythm of the campus and the academic year.  We appreciate your patience as we develop our plan more fully.

We will send regular communication to the campus after each of our meetings. Watch for invitations to participate and help create a successful transition for Dr. Hostetter and the next chapter in Hamline's life and mission.
