The Hamline to Hamline Collaboration has been hard at work this spring organizing several unique learning experiences.
Hamline Elementary second graders had one very busy day working with Hamline University’s Business and Society class to create kindness cards for neighbors in the morning and playing a game of soccer with the women’s soccer team in the afternoon.
The Hamline University theater department treated first graders to a behind-the-scenes experience at the Anne Simley Theater on campus and yoga-practicing university students led first graders through yoga poses, breathing, and balance exercises in the Hamline Elementary gym.
Last week first graders participated in a fun-filled book reading and Q&A with Hamline alum, entrepreneur, and author, C.L. Stein, and every Hamline Elementary student visited Klas Field for an incredible Field Day experience organized by Hamline Athletics and supported by dozens of student athletes.
This week we’re looking forward to kindergarten tours of Hamline University’s Bush Library and excited for our communications program, Snelling Connection - led by Hamline University students - to publish their newspaper featuring writing, illustrations, and insights from Hamline Elementary students. We are so thankful to all the students, staff, and faculty who make these experiences possible!
And as Hamline University's spring term comes to a close and college students move on to their summer plans, our Collaboration programs will begin to wind down. We want to acknowledge the excellent work of Hamline University students who volunteer as mentors, work as tutors and the student workers (Ally, Darby, Isaac, and Ma) who do so much to support the Collaboration.
It’s also nearly time for Hamline University’s Commencement and the Hamline to Hamline Collaboration would like to congratulate all of this year's graduates, especially those who have been part of our programming and community during their time at Hamline University. These amazing college students add so much to our community and we wish them all the best!
