Victoria Blanco

Victoria Blanco is the author of Out of the Sierra: A Story of Rarámuri Resistance (Coffee House Press, 2024), a 2025 ALA Notable Book longlisted for the 2025 Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction. The book was also named a 2024 Booklist Editors’ Choice, an ABA Indies Introduce title, a June Indie Next Pick, and one of The Millions’ Most Anticipated Books of Spring 2024. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Orion, Guernica, and other publications. The recipient of a Jerome Fellowship, a Fulbright award, and honors from the University of Minnesota, Blanco holds an MFA from the University of Minnesota. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, three sons, and their golden retriever.
