Minnie Her is an advisor in TRiO Student Support Services (SSS). She attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where she studied elementary education and minored in Teaching English as a Second Language. She was a student teacher in the Saint Paul Public Schools and spent a semester abroad in the south of France, teaching English.
Before coming to Hamline, she worked as a Special Education paraprofessional and helped high school students with their post-secondary plans as a College Possible coach. Through these experiences, she found her passion for mentoring students as they develop their education plans. It’s such a rewarding experience to see students’ growth throughout the year!
Fun Fact: I went to the elementary school across from Hamline and witnessed Anderson Center being built during my time across the street. Time sure does fly!
