Biography

Carlos Sneed serves as Director of the Hedgeman Center for Student Diversity Initiatives and Programs at Hamline University. As Director, Carlos supervises staff, mentors students, advises student organizations, and coordinates diversity education initiatives for students, staff, and the entire University community. Additionally, along with Professor Colleen Bell, Carlos developed and co-taught the university's first intergroup dialogue course on race (Spring 2010, 2012, 2015).

Active in the Minnesota College Personnel Association (MPCA), Carlos has served in several key positions in the statewide association, including a three-year term as President. Additionally, Carlos was the recipient of the 2007 MCPA Linda Schrempp Alberg Award for Outstanding Contribution to Minnesota Higher Education, as well as the 2009 recipient of the Hamline University John Wesley Outstanding Service Award for Staff.

Originally from Clarksville, Tennessee, Carlos Sneed received his bachelor's degree in African and Afro-American Studies and Psychology from Washington University (MO) and his master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the Bowling Green State University (OH).
