Crystal Maria Camacho (she/her/ella or they/them/elle) is excited to continue being part of the Hamline community through her position as the program assistant for the Center for Gender + Sexualities. In this role, Crystal is responsible for the oversight of the student staff, interns, and volunteers who work in the center, and aims to provide guidance and mentorship to them both in their work with the center and in their overall experiences at Hamline. She also directly oversees planning of a few key events throughout the year, including the annual Take Back the Campus event as well as the Women's Leadership Retreat.

Having recently been a first-gen graduate of the Hamline class of 2023, Crystal feels a lot of love for the Hamline community, and was very involved as an undergraduate, working for the McVay Youth Voice Program, Snelling Connection at Hamline Elementary, and most notably in several roles through the New Student Programs and Orientation office. Crystal was also a member of Hamline Unidos and the A Capella Choir.

Through her leadership experiences during her time as an undergrad student, Crystal decided to pursue a career in higher education and Student Affairs. Over the summer, she was fortunate to serve as the NODA intern at Macalester College here in the Twin Cities, as well as volunteer at Saint Paul College during their welcome week programs. She looks forward to continuing to build her experience in higher ed with her position in the Center for Gender + Sexualities. She's excited to forge connections with students, staff and faculty, not only in our Hamline community, but in the greater community of student affairs in the Twin Cities!
