HSEL Elementary Education Faculty, Annie Ittner, contributed a chapter to the 3rd edition of Handbook of Research on Reading Comprehension, published by Routledge. The chapter, Perspectives on Reading Comprehension for Multilingual Learners, synthesizes recent research on factors that influence reading comprehension for K-12 multilingual students. The Handbook is a revered text among reading researchers and is considered the "seminal research handbook on reading comprehension". The chapter is co-authored with Jackie Caires-Hurley (Western Oregon University) and Annie Delbridge (Oregon State University).
