HIPAL (a STEM professional development program at Hamline) hosted a Hamline STEM Alumni Career and Networking event on Monday, March 30th. 200 students from Integrated Concepts in Biology II, General Chemistry II, General Physics II, and Algebra-based Physics II met with 30 Hamline alumni from STEM fields. Students met with 3 different alumni during the event to learn about the day-to-day activities of their job or graduate/professional educational program, the experience they needed to get their job, what Hamline experiences contributed to their career development, and advice for current Hamline students. The alumni represented a variety of STEM fields, including healthcare (medical school, physician assistant), wellness (athletic training, public health), research (biomedical, clinical, chemical), forensics, pharmacy, business, engineering, and natural resources management.
