Andreas Schramm, HSEL Professor Emeritus, co-authored an article raising concerns about the ability of Large Language Models to fully comprehend simple narratives. The study's results suggest that LLMs process language fundamentally differently from human cognition and lack robust narrative understanding. This research was also presented at the Association for Computational Linguistics conference in Vienna.
