Prof. Valentine Cadieux part of public art team featured at 40th Farm Aid this week

Hamline Environmental and Climate Studies program's Professor Valentine Cadieux is part of a public art team featured at this year's Farm Aid Festival supporting family farmers here in the Twin Cities this week. Led by artist Gita Ghei, the team, including Signe Peterson, Rachel Levin, and Valentine Cadieux, illustrated an oversized deck of playing cards with key characters and events from the hundred years of Minnesota's Farmer Labor Movement, along with a collection of handheld bronze monuments. Working with the Farmer Labor Education Committee, and supported by the Monument Lab, this work focuses on competencies we need to work together across urban and rural communities -- and across other differences in our social positions, a key theme of the Farm Aid Festival's week of educational events.  For more information on this year's 40th anniversary Farm Aid programming, see: https://www.farmaid.org/festival/farm-aid-40-events/
