Sabrina Hanson, Student Area Coordinator of Osborn Hall, is a junior at Hamline University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Criminology. She is returning to the Office of Residential Life after being a Resident Assistant last year in Peterson Hall. While in that position, Sabrina established a sense of community and inclusiveness on her dormitory floor by taking the initiative to get to know her residents on an individual level. This can be seen through the many positive peer-leader relationships she fostered and her ongoing dedication to making living on campus welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.
As a student area coordinator, Sabrina is responsible for guiding and directing a small resident assistant team, handling policy violations and conduct cases, assisting with RA training and interviewing, maintaining and tracking programming budgets, serving in a weekly on-duty call rotation, and overseeing the safety and well-being of the residents of Osborn Hall. In her current position, she hopes to continue being someone students can turn to for advice and guidance while working to further improve the experience and quality of living on campus. Sabrina’s strengths include conflict management, effective communication, and a detail-oriented approach to any job she does. Along with the valuable skills Sabrina learned from being a Resident Assistant, she brings crisis intervention, time management, and relationship-building experience from the non-profit organization Radius Health. She has received awards and recognition for her leadership skills, such as Resident Assistant of the Year (for the Heights) for the 2022-2023 school year and being inducted into the National Residence Hall Honorary organization.
Outside of Residential Life, Sabrina works as a Senior Fellow through the McVay Youth Partnership, officed through the Wesley Center in Anderson. When she is not working one of her jobs or busy doing schoolwork, Sabrina enjoys spending time with friends, visiting nearby coffee shops, catching up on some of her favorite TV shows, and taking some time to relax.
