Jewel Yang, Student Area Coordinator, has worked at Hamline University for Residential Life since the Fall of 2022 as a Resident Assistant. Her direct responsibilities include supervising and supporting Resident Assistants, Managing RA Conduct Accountability, and upholding performance expectations. Prior to working at Hamline University, Jewel had experience with non-profits such as The Arc MN, Animal Humane Society, and The Community Resource Center of Saint Andrews Lutheran Church, where Jewel served to meet the needs of communities that experience barriers to basic needs in Minnesota.

Jewel's strengths and focuses are hospitality, advocacy, and outreach. With experience in non-profit organizations, she brings knowledge of the resources available for various needs, and has strength in adaptability, developing solutions to reach common goals, and building relationships with those around her. Jewel enjoys serving others, as well as hanging out with friends, watching The Office, and trying new foods around Minnesota.

She is in her fourth year at Hamline University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing and Business Management. She wants to continue her experience in the non-profit sector. As the Student Area Coordinator, Jewel wants to strengthen the relationship between the student leadership body and provide a community-first philosophy in her role. Jewel's hometown is Ham Lake, MN. She loves her dogs!
