Dr. Binnur Ozkececi-Taner serves as Hamline University's Interim Dean of Faculty. In this role, she provides leadership for faculty affairs, shared governance, academic operations, accreditation, faculty development, and curricular processes, working closely with faculty and university leadership to advance academic excellence and support Hamline's mission and strategic priorities.

Dr. Ozkececi-Taner brings nearly two decades of experience at Hamline University. Prior to her appointment as Interim Dean, she served as Associate Provost for Curriculum and Faculty and held numerous faculty leadership roles, including serving as Hamline's inaugural Faculty Senate President, Faculty Council President, Chair of the Faculty Personnel Committee, Faculty Liaison to the Center for Teaching and Learning, Program Chair and Director, and Administrative Head.

A Professor of Political Science, Dr. Ozkececi-Taner is the author or editor of several books and numerous scholarly articles. She earned a B.A. in International Relations from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, an M.A. in Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She is an active member of the International Studies Association and serves on the editorial boards of two of the association's flagship journals, Foreign Policy Analysis and International Studies Perspectives, as well as the advisory board of the Global Academy.

Students need to take responsibility for their learning. They have to be mindful individuals who can engage in constructive dialogue with their peers and professors. To do that, they need to be prepared to have their views and beliefs to be challenged in and outside of classroom. This is the key to a fulfilling life during and after college years.
