Established in 1854, Hamline was the first university in Minnesota. With a deep-rooted liberal arts foundation, a Hamline education encourages students to maximize their intellectual, creative, and leadership potential.
Who better can articulate what it's like to be a Piper than Pipers themselves?
Along with the prestige that comes with Hamline University, I chose Hamline because the campus had professors with real life experiences/careers. Being taught by someone still in the field I want to pursue is absolutely amazing.
The most valuable aspect of the university is the student to professor relationships. All of my professors, regardless of the type of class, wanted to create an atmosphere for learning and creativity in their own way. Their dedication to have their students learn and be engaged is incredible. I value the relationships that occur with the professors. Hamline University professors are lifelong mentors.
I chose Hamline for the diverse community and the small class sizes. It offers more time to connect with professors. My favorite Hamline memory is going on a Target run freshman year with my roommate. It was the first time we hung out.One thing I’d like to accomplish while at Hamline is studying abroad in Brazil!
I love Hamline because I feel like I’m accomplishing something new at every turn. Every experience that I’ve had has been unique and has taught me more about myself than I ever could have imagined!
T-Rex Cookies and Coffee Cafe in Prospect Park is a spot I always recommend to people. It’s locally owned, and they have a huge selection of homemade cookies that are half a pound each!
The best part of being a Piper is the amount of activities you can be involved in. Hamline students are notoriously busy and are never afraid to try something new!
I chose Hamline because it’s a small university with a welcoming atmosphere. My favorite Hamline memory was when the men’s soccer team made the playoffs. My advice for incoming students is to not be afraid. You’ll find out that you’ll fit in somewhere. Don’t rush it.
One of my favorite Hamline memories is the tour I took before I came to campus. I’d advise any incoming students to take one.
While at Hamline, I’d like to set myself up to graduate in four years with a double major.
My favorite place off campus is the Mall of America. I love the shopping!
My favorite Hamline memory is participating in things like metal pours in the sculpture department. The most valuable aspect of the university is all of the resources available to students. Everything from academic to personal! The best part of being a Piper is the amazing people you get to meet everyday. Everyone is so passionate, and it’s contagious.
