Department Scholarships: Art History Hamline’s Art History Scholarship is designed to encourage students with a demonstrated interest in art history. This award can be renewed for three years if eligibility requirements are met. Deadlines Transfer Spring 2021 student application deadline: January 5, 2021 First-Year student application deadline: February 1, 2021 Transfer Fall 2021 student application deadline: June 1, 2021 Scholarship Criteria Admitted students applying for this scholarship will be reviewed based on their demonstrated writing and research skills and how they communicate their passion for art history through the required materials for this scholarship. A major in Art History is required to maintain this scholarship. All required materials for admission to Hamline University must be submitted before applying for departmental scholarships. Scholarship applications and materials received after the deadline will not be considered. Scholarships are only awarded to students who have received an offer of admission from Hamline University. How to Maintain this Scholarship To maintain this scholarship annually, the scholarship recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA and declare a major in Art History by the end of their sophomore year at Hamline. We encourage you to submit a graded paper from one of your high school or college classes. Personal Statement: Discuss your interest and experience with art history and how you are convinced art history will be a part of your life. This statement should be one page maximum in length.
