• Signature Events

The Office of Student Activities & Leadership Development strives to enrich the experience of Hamline students by providing fun and developmental activities and services throughout the year. Below is a listing of some of our largest annual events. As details are confirmed, links and additional information will be provided below.

    Fall Welcome Week

During the first week of classes, the Hamline University Programming Board (HUPB) hosts Fall Welcome Week, a series of fun events that give students the opportunity to get together, make friends, and build community. The week culminates in the Welcome Back Block Party, an outdoor event featuring food trucks, inflatables, lawn games, and more!

Homecoming Week isn't just for alumni, it is the time of the year when current students go the extra mile to show their school spirit and celebrate the Hamline community. Highlights include the annual Lip Sync competition, crowning of Homecoming Royalty, and the Homecoming football game, to name a few.

    Family Weekend

Join us for a weekend of activities during our annual Family Weekend. Taking place every fall, this program provides an opportunity to invite the families and friends of students back to campus for a taste of college life.

Fireball is Hamline’s off-campus, semiformal dance taking place in March. Students get dressed up, load the buses, and enjoy a night on the town with appetizers, a DJ, and dancing. The location changes annually; past venues include Machine Shop and Nicollet Island Pavilion.
