    2017-2018 Faculty Development Days:

     Faculty Development Day

Fall 2017 Faculty Development Day is August 30, 2017

Registration is now open for Fall Faculty Development Day!

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is pleased to invite all faculty and interested staff to attend CTL’s Fall Faculty Development Day on August 30th from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. in Anderson Center.

The morning will begin with a hot breakfast and conversation with colleagues. The Faculty Development Day program will kick off with a series of “lightning talks” by Hamline faculty who are eager to share how they’ve incorporated new ideas and teaching strategies in their classes. We’ll then break out into smaller, interactive concurrent sessions for the remainder of the morning. We’re excited to offer three concurrent session “tracks” throughout the day: 1) hands-on technology, 2) starting strong in the new academic year, and 3) current projects and ideas connected to instructional innovation. You’ll have the flexibility to immerse yourself in one track in its entirety, or sample across tracks throughout the day.

During lunch, we will be hosting a Resource Fair with representatives from academic and student support offices around campus available to field your questions as you prepare for the fall semester. After lunch, we will gather as a large group for another set of faculty “lightning talks” that will lead into a session exploring how well-crafted assignments can help students—graduate and undergraduate— succeed and get the most out of your class. After one last round of concurrent sessions, Faculty Development Day will conclude. President Miller will host a welcome reception immediately following the program (a separate RSVP will be required).

We are pleased to provide breakfast and lunch for all registrants who respond by Friday, August 25th. In order for us to have the most accurate head count and make responsible use of our resources, please carefully consider your ability to participate when you RSVP.
