Nominations for 2023 Beloved Community Awards

In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s extraordinary leadership, service and philosophy that still lend guidance, motivation and inspiration to today’s fight for racial and social justice issues, The Division of Student Affairs is pleased to announce, and solicit your nominations for, THE 2023 BELOVED COMMUNITY AWARDS. Through these awards, we seek to recognize a student, staff, faculty and community member whose demonstrated leadership, service, and commitment epitomizes the work that must be done by us all to enjoy meaningful lives, relationships and participation in The Beloved Community.

Dr. King’s Beloved Community is a global vision, in which all people can share in the wealth of the earth. In the Beloved Community, poverty, hunger and homelessness will not be tolerated because international standards of human decency will not allow it. Racism and all forms of discrimination, bigotry and prejudice will be replaced by an all-inclusive spirit of sisterhood and brotherhood. In the Beloved Community, international disputes will be resolved by peaceful conflict-resolution and reconciliation of adversaries, instead of military power. Love and trust will triumph over fear and hatred. Peace and justice will prevail over war and military conflict.

To submit nominations for The Beloved Community Awards, please complete this Nomination Form by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
