Hamline Class of 2020

Hamline welcomes the Class of 2020, at about 550 students strong, the incoming students represent one of the biggest classes in the university's 160+ year history.

Our incoming class is comprised of 43 percent first-generation students (neither parent completed a four-year degree) and 35 percent students of color and American Indian students. Ten percent are legacy students (a parent or grandparent is an alumnus, or a sibling is concurrently enrolled at Hamline).

 More stats for the first year class 2020:
1. They come from 26 different states and three countries
2. 50 percent are top 25 percent of their graduating class
3. 23 percent are recruited athletes
4. Four veterans

Other fun facts about some of our first-years:
1. One student started a organization to help teens cope with mental illness
2. One student produced and sold three original albums
3. One student is a three-time blue ribbon winner at the Minnesota State Fair
4. One student was a Model United Nations delegate
5. One student earned Boy Scouts of America Heroism Award for saving a life
