All Summer 2020 programs have been moved online so parking should not be an issue. Fall parking information will be sent out along with move-in details, but it can be noted that guests are encouraged to use any of the service lots. These lots are free and not permitted during summer months, early fall semester, or in the evenings. Guests can also park in the Anderson underground parking for the cost of $1 per hour.
For more information on university parking policies, go to our parking policies page.
YES! We know that after being on campus for a couple of weeks, you may know the campus pretty well. But, orientation is not just a week long tour! It’s a chance to develop relationships with people outside of your team and discover the many services and opportunities the campus has to offer. Don’t be the person who misses Fall Orientation and then in the middle of the semester says “But nobody told me that I had to ___________ (fill in the blank)!”
For questions and concerns regarding transfer credits, please contact the transfer articulation coordinator at transferarticulation@hamline.edu.
For First Year Students (fall only): First Year students register on during their Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) over the summer. Please consult the Registration Information website and the First Year Registration Guide mailed to you after you deposited. This information will help you have a successful SOAR. Once at SOAR you will receive an overview about registration from our Advising office and the work with our advising staff, faculty advisors, and new student mentors to build a tentative schedule before registering online. After SOAR advising staff from the Center of Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) will review your schedule and contact you if needed.
For Transfer Students (and all spring admits): All registration takes place online. You will need your Hamline ID and your Piperline PIN. Please consult the Registration Information website and the Transfer Registration Guide. Once you have read through this Success and Achievement at 651-523-2912 or cas@hamline.edu
For more information on course registration-related questions, please visit Center for Academic Success and Achievement website.

Students have an opportunity each semester to opt-out of Hamline health insurance. To do so, you need to sign into Piperline and:
- Select Student Records
- Select Waive Fees
- Fill out the necessary information to waive insurance and click "Submit" at the bottom.
The benefits of working on-campus are significant. On-campus employment allows you flexibility to work around your class schedule and exam times, enables you to connect with staff and other students around campus, involves less commuting between school and another work site, and less money spent on gas since you’re already here for classes. Search for student employment and internships online.
Commuter Connections offers a variety of services and programs for commuter students on campus. The commuter lounge is located in the lower level of West Hall and includes plenty of tables and chairs for homework or socializing during the day. They also have lockers available, vending machines, and a microwave
For more information check out their website.
There are plenty of great reasons why students choose to live on campus. If you are thinking of living campus and want details about roommate sign up, what you can bring with you from home, or are just looking for general housing information please visit the Housing and Residential Life website.
There are several ways to find out about student organizations here at Hamline. Shortly after fall orientation, there is an Activities Fair where you can check out different clubs and organizations. Also, talk to your friends and classmates about what they are involved in. Watch your email for informative announcements from CLA-Announce or Inside Hamline.
