    Gretchen Jensen Erickson ’36 died on January 9, 2019. She majored in physical education. She is predeceased by her husband, Bruce Erickson ’37; and survived by her two sons Anthony Erickson ’77 and Jon Erickson.

    Don Leathers ’39 died in August 31, 2018. He is predeceased by his brother, Dean. He is survived by his wife, Norma; his children, Sandra and Sue Ann; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

    Donald Wells ’40 died on November 7, 2018. He majored in philosophy. He is predeceased by his wife, June. He is survived by his children, Michael and Miria; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren

    George Kline ’44 died on January 20, 2017. He is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor; and his siblings, Charles and Jacqueline. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah, Julianne, Jennifer, Lisa, and Kristin; and eight grandchildren.

    Ruth Wulfsberg Berger ’45 died on September 11, 2018.

    Betty Smith Stebbins ’45 died on December 7, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of the A Cappella Choir and she majored in sociology. She is predeceased by her husband, Frank. She is survived by her daughters Dr. Jill Stebbins ’75, Laurie Brackee ’78, two other daughters, and several grandchildren.

    Eileen Fuller Stutzman ’45 died on October 10, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of The Oracle staff, Philo Browning, and the A Cappella Choir, and she majored in business administration and languages. She is predeceased by her husband, Gordon. She is survived by her children, Jeff, Jim, and Nancy; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, William.

    Irene “Ruth” Krouch Anderson ’48 died on August 28, 2018. She majored in nursing. She is predeceased by her husband, Russell; and her siblings Dorothea, Maxine, and Gilbert. She is survived by her siblings Barbara and Vivian.

    Robert Morris ’48 died on December 29, 2018. He majored in economics. He is survived by his wife, Dona; his children, Meredith and Matthew; and his sister, Margaret.

    Patricia Strait Shepley ’48 died on October 10, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Torch & Cycle and Alpha Phi Theta, and she majored in economics and sociology. She is predeceased by her daughter Judith; and her siblings, Herbert and Mary. She is survived by her husband, Warren; her children Sandra, Robert, and Thomas; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

    Evelyn Erickson Sonnenberg ’48 died on September 15, 2018. She majored in nursing. She is predeceased by her husband, Glen; her son Scott; one great-grandchild; and three siblings. She is survived by her children, Melanie, Melissa, and Karl; her siblings Marian, Doris, and Mark; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

    Maud Dahle Demorest ’49 died on November 28, 2018. She majored in medical technology. She is predeceased by her sister, Andreen. She is survived by her children, Mark, Linda, and Glen; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Johannes.

    Roger Erickson ’49 died on October 13, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was on the hockey team, and he majored in history and social studies. He is survived by his wife, Garnet; and his children, Dave and Anne.

    Charles Pierce ’50 died on July 29, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of Theta Chi. He is survived by his wife, Jane; and his children, Cynthia, Kathryn, and John; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

    Janet Thomas Lund ’51 died on January 13, 2019. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Alpha Phi Theta and she majored in sociology. She is survived by her husband, Dean; daughters, Julie, Margaret, and Erika; and five grandchildren.

    William Souther ’51 died on August 9, 2018. He majored in education and history. He is predeceased by his parents, Thelma Holmes Souther ’26 and Bill; his wife, Susie; and his brother, Bob. He is survived by his sons, Bill, Steve, and Greg; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Joy.

    Harry Biebighauser ’52 died on December 11, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of Theta Chi, and he majored in business administration and economics. He is predeceased by his brother, Harlan. His is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his children, Dave, Mary, Kris, and John; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    J. David Hegna ’52 died on January 13, 2019. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of the basketball and track and field teams, and he majored in education, health, and physical education. He is predeceased by his siblings, Jim, Dorothy, and Lois. He is survived by his wife, Frances; his children, Tom, Mary, and Becky; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    June Keyes Olstad ’52 died on November 18, 2018. She majored in nursing. She is predeceased by her brother, Dale. She is survived by her husband, Lyle; her son, Stuart; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

    Jay Anderson ’53 died on August 20, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of the track and field team, and he majored in philosophy and religion. He is survived by his wife, Lois Hayes Anderson ’53.

    Norman Overland ’53 died on January 1, 2019. During his time at Hamline, he played football, and he majored in health and physical education. He is survived by his children, Jennifer, David, and Gregory; four grandchildren, and his sisters, Beverly and Geraldine.

    Laura Ottinger Steen ’53 died on December 25, 2018. She majored in education and English. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald. She is survived by her son, David; and her brother, Roy.

    George Chilian ’54 died on April 17, 2017. He majored in business administration and economics. He is survived by his wife, Agrita; his children, Carl, Armen, Jonathan, Priscilla, Haig; nine grandchildren; and his sister, Dorothy.

    Marlys Robson Reimler ’54 died on December 9, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Alpha Phi Theta and A Cappella Choir. She is predeceased by her mother, Gertrude Nunn Robson ’25; her father, Lester; and her sister, Jean. She is survived by her husband, Bob; her sons, John, Jim, and Thomas; eight grandchildren; and his sister Carolyn.

    Eula Marineau Stevenson ’54 died on October 3, 2018. She majored in nursing. She is predeceased by her husband, Philip; her parents, Fred and Christine; and her brother, Fred. She is survived by her sister, Marian; her children, Myron, Nathan, and Brian; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    Ronald Wandmacher ’54 died on May 21, 2016. He is predeceased by his siblings, Ray and Royal. He is survived by his wife, Delia; his children, Linda, Lori, Lanette, and Lisa; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

    Andrew J. Warhol ’55 died on October 25, 2018. During his time at Hamline he was a member of Alpha Psi Omega.

    Jacqueline Johnston Batie ’56 died on August 6, 2018. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her daughters, Lorri and Dawn; her step-daughter, Sherri; one granddaughter; and her brother, Bill.

    William Dirks ’56 died on January 19, 2019. He is predeceased by his brothers, Benjamin Dirks ’51 and Robert Dirks ’54. He is survived by his wife, Marian; his children, Michael, Rhonda, and Philip; 15 grandchildren; and brothers, Thomas Dirks ’56, Jerry Dirks ’64, and Scott Dirks ’69.

    Bernard Lamb ’56 died on September 19, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of Theta Chi and the tennis team, and he majored in mathematics. He is predeceased by his son Peter; and his brother Merwyn. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his sons Thomas, Charles, and Richard; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Norma.

    Sally Burden Tindall ’56 died on August 7, 2018. She majored in nursing.

    Marilyn Roberts Burton ’57 died on September 28, 2018. he majored in nursing. She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Julie, Mitchell, and Todd; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her siblings, Orleen and Willis.

    Bonnie Anderson Johnson ’57 died on January 26, 2019. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of The Oracle staff, Philo Browning, and A Cappella Choir, and she majored in elementary education and social studies. She is predeceased by her husband, Ray; and her brothers, Arnold and Ellis. She is survived by her children, Eric, Kristi, Staci, and Jeni; and six grandchildren.

    Janice Arnquist Clary ’58 died on September 30, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a cheerleader and a member of the A Cappella Choir, and she majored in elementary education and social studies. She is predeceased by her husbands, E. William and Roy; her siblings, Jim and Patricia; and her step-daughters, Denise and Barbara. She is survived by her husband, Phillip; her children, Karla, Jay, and Bill; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

    Ralph Gundersen ’59 died on August 13, 2018. He majored in biology. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lowe Gundersen ’60; his children, Mark and Tracy; his brother, Ross Gundersen ’73; and his sister, Sue.

    John Jentink ’59 died on September 25, 2018. He is predeceased by his wife, Alta. He is survived by his children, Kimberly and Michael; four grandchildren; and his siblings, Sharen and William.

    Sharen Jentink Chappell ’60 died on December 25, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Philo Browning and The Oracle staff, and she majored in speech. She is predeceased by her parents, Norman and Florence; and her brother John. She is survived by her husband, Rulon; her daughters, Elizabeth and Gwendolyn; two grandchildren; and her brother William.

    David Cox ’61 died on December 1, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of Pi Gamma Mu and the tennis team, and he majored in international relations. He is survived by his wife, Oma; his daughter, Ximena; two grandchildren; and his brothers, Charles and Tom.

    Jerry Jensen ’61 died on October 5, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of HUSC, Torch & Cycle, Alpha Psi Omega, and A Cappella Choir, and he majored in mathematics, philosophy, and psychology. He is predeceased by his brother, Vernon “Bud” Jensen ’64.

    Don D. Maronde ’61 died on October 19, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of HUSC, and he majored in psychology. He is predeceased by his brother, Del. He is survived by his wife, Beth; his previous wives, Doreen and Sandy; and his children, Dan and Loreli; his step-daughter, Rachel; his grandchildren, Noah and Ryder; and his sisters, Jackie and Cheryl.

    Douglas Whitman ’61 died on December 28, 2017. He majored in economics. He is predeceased by his brother Edward. He is survived by his wife, Karen; his brother Robert; his children, Barbara, Douglas, Daniel, and David; 25 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

    Jon Harkness ’62 died on September 7, 2018. During his time at Halmine, he was a member of Theta Chi, and he majored in education and physics. He is predeceased by his sister, Mary Jo. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; and his sons, Jon and Harrington.

    Johann “Hans” Seitz ’62 died on July 30, 2018. He majored in English. He is survived by his wife, Renate; his children, Angelica and Michael; and six grandchildren.

    Karen Johnson Carlson ’63 died on September 19, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Alpha Phi Theta.

    Roger Salmon ’63 died on January 22, 2019. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and the baseball team. He majored in English. He is survived by his wife, Sue; his son, Todd; five grandchildren; and his siblings, Dean and Marilyn.

    Richard Bouilly ’64 died on August 4, 2018. He majored in history. He is predeceased by his second wife, Maudie. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; his daughter, Vilia; his step-daughters, Sheryl, Terry, and Jaki; a grandson; and his brothers, Robert and Roger.

    Liz Koenke Greenhagen ’66 died on August 22, 2018. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert. She is survived by her brother, Robert Koenke ’69.

    Kathryn Blackmun Meyer ’67 died on August 13, 2018. She is predeceased by her parents, Col. Arvid Blackmun ’41 and Ila Polzin Blackmun ’39. She is survived by her husband, Franklin Meyer ’69; her sons, Daeron, Luke, and Loren; five grandchildren; and her sisters, Colleen Blackmun DeCambaliza ’64, Linda, Kimberly, and Mary.

    Jane Werner Simon ’67 died on September 6, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Epsilon Lambda-Sigma Society and Aquatic League, and she was a medical technology major.

    Linda Krupke Vogel ’69 died on September 28, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Aquatic League and Phi Gamma Mu. She majored in sociology. She is predeceased by her parents, Ivan and Lois. She is survived by her daughters, Brittney and Brianne; three grandchildren; and her brother, Bruce.

    Melissa Donehower Benson ’70 died on March 4, 2019. During her time at Hamline, she was a cheerleader and a member of Epsilon Lambda Sigma Society. She is predeceased by her husband, Duane Benson ’67. She is survived by her children, Brooke Worden ’93 and Jess; four grandchildren; and her sister, Nancy.

    Ellen Prentice Hunter ’70 died on September 23, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Aquatic League, and she majored in elementary education and French. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Hunter ’70.

    Richard Tein ’70 died on October 10, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of the swim and dive team. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo.

    Dennis Worwa ’70 died on November 3, 2018. He majored in physics. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hesseldahl Worwa ’70; his sons, Jason and Joe; three grandchildren; and his brother, Ken.

    Roger Force ’72 died on May 26, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of the swim and dive team and the basketball team, and he majored in sociology. He is predeceased by his parents, Dewey Force ’47 and Ardith Schultz Force ’45. He is survived by his siblings, Alan Force ’73 and Virginia Merle Anderson ’77.

    Monica Sheridan ’73 died on November 24, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Alpha Psi Omega, and she majored in biology.

    John Kudalis ’75 died on January 14, 2017. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega, and he majored in anthropology. He is survived by his wife, Maryann; his children, TJ and Leah; two grandchildren; and his siblings, Michael, Anne, and Elizabeth.

    Gregg Paulson ’76 died on September 30, 2018. During his time at Hamline, he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega, the hockey team, and the soccer team. He is survived by his siblings, Donald, Launa, and Lea.

    Joan Schwartz Rudnik ’77 died on December 9, 2018. She majored in psychology. She is predeceased by her sons Thomas and Michael. She is survived by her husband, Donald; her sons James, Brad, Paul, and David; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

    Brenda Knott Radcliffe ’79 died on September 10, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of the basketball team. She is survived by her children, Gustave and Emily; her parents, Duane and Elaine; and her siblings, Janet, Arlen, and Krista.

    Robert Hull ’81 died on January 30, 2019. He majored in philosophy. He is survived by his wife, Megan; his children, Ethan and Emily; his step-children, Max and Felix; and his siblings, David and Amy.

    Tracy Perhus ’85 died on December 10, 2018. She majored in psychology. She is predeceased by her father, Raymond; and her brother John. She is survived by her mother, Norma; and her siblings, Rochelle, Robyn, Ray, Joan, and Dawn.

    Edward Meeker ’86 died on November 7, 2018. He majored in English. He is predeceased by his brother, John. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his son, Lucas; his step-daughters, Madison and Keeley; and his sister, Elizabeth.

    Sara Wittenberg ’92 died on August 25, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Leadership Scholars, and she majored in international management. She is predeceased by her father, David. She is survived by her mother, Audrey; and her brother, Mark.

    Lisa Harley ’93 died on August 23, 2018. During her time at Hamline, she was a member of Presidential Fellows, Pi Gamma Mu, and Alpha Kappa Delta, and she majored in sociology and social studies. Shee is predeceased by her husband, Bob; and her daughter, Rita. She is survived by her son, Clint; four granddaughters; and her siblings, Todd, Steve, and Debbie.

    Earl Cloud Jr. JD ’76 died on September 13, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Sheila; his children, Scott and Earl; three grandchildren; and his siblings, Susan and Joseph.

    Gregory Bruns JD ’78 died on August 11, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, David and Jennifer; his stepchildren, Michael, Dawn and Patrick; his siblings, Diane and George; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

    Gregory Rebeau JD ’78 died on December 27, 2018. He is predeceased by his sister, Mary Beth. He is survived by his brother, John; his daughter, Cassie; and one granddaughter.

    Vivian Upin Schwartz Leith JD ’79 died on December 25, 2018. She is survived by her husband, Stewart; her children, Jeffrey, David, and Nan; four grandchildren; three stepsons; and her brother, Gerald.

    Mary Ward JD ’80 died on August 29, 2018. She is predeceased by her husband, Jon; her parents, William and Mary; and her brother, Paul. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea; six grandchildren; and her sisters, Anne and Shannon.

    Michael Miller JD ’84 died on January 25, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Kathie; his children, Cody and Vienna; three grandchildren; and his brothers, Tony, Rick, Steve, and Dan.

    John Perrotta JD ’88 died on November 22, 2018. He is predeceased by his sister, Maureen. He is survived by his children, Laura and John; and his sisters, Kathleen and Penny.

    Nicholas Gegen JD ’90 died on December 9, 2018. He is survived by his siblings, Colleen and Michael.

    Terence Hislop JD ’91 died on December 26, 2018. He is predeceased by his father, John. He is survived by his wife, Lynda; his sons, Joshua and Benjamin; his mother, Jenny; and his brothers, Tim and Tom.

    Michael Savage JD ’96 died on April 22, 2018. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia.

    Glenyce Sievers MAED ’97 died on October 29, 2018. She is predeceased by her brother, Gary.

    Judith Freeman Rodel MALS ’99 died on August 23, 2018. She is predeceased by her brother, John. She is survived by her husband, Don; her children, Christopher, Jennifer, and Anna; six grandchildren; and her siblings Mary, James, Michael, and Laurel.

    Ann Ferguson Ness died on October 19, 2018. She was an emerita trustee. She is survived by her husband, Doug; her daughter, Abby; and her brothers, James and Larry.

    Judith Kuehling Semler died on January 10, 2019. She was an adjunct faculty member at Hamline.

    Samuel Simmons died on November 11, 2018. He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara Jean; and his brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his children, Deborah Simmons Harris ’79, Sherrie Simmons Day ’85, Samuel, and Michael; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Lorraine, Wesley, and Lawrence.

    John Tessner died on November 27, 2018. He was head of public services at the Hamline School of Law library for 18 years. He is predeceased by his brother, Gary. He is survived by his brother, Bruce.

    Earl Bakken died on October 21, 2018. He is survived by his wife Doris J.
