Lifeng Dong Co-Authors Two Articles

Lifeng Dong, the Emma K. and Carl R. N. Malmstrom Endowed Chair in Physics, has co-authored two scientific articles.

The first article he published is called, "Numerical Simulation of Polarization Beam Splitter with Triangular Lattice of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotube Arrays." This work, published in Optics Communications, is on designing and simulating a new type of beam splitter with low loss and less cross talk to manipulate light in the field of optical communications.

The second article is called, "The fixity of prostate seed implants: The impact of the strand surface on its ability to migrate inside oil and gel medium." This work, published in Brachytherapy, is to investigate the impact of the surface of radioactive seed implants on the velocity of their movement inside oil and gel media. The finding in this study is significant since it will impact, theoretically, the design, and thus the migration of seed implants that are used to treat cancer patients, particularly those with prostate cancer.
