Sixth Annual Foundations of Management 5K

The Hamline School of Business Foundations of Management classes under the instruction of Professor Tom Burns and Professor Rob Routhieaux are proud to have sponsored the Sixth Annual We Take the Lead 5K to benefit the Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota (DAV of MN). This year 153 runners, including veterans and students, participated in the run/walk on Sunday, April 22 at Lake Phalen in St. Paul.

Students in the Foundations of Management classes are responsible for organizing, planning and executing the event as part of their coursework. Students established a goal of $7,000 and 150 runners for the event. Nearly thirty businesses throughout the state of Minnesota donated to this event.

Raising over $9,000 in gross revenue and estimated to net over $7,000 on behalf of the DAV of MN, this year's event was a success. The students presented a debrief of the event at the Foundations of Management Service Learning Assessment (FMSLA) Conference on Tuesday, May 8 during convo hour in Anderson Center room 112.
