Patsy Egan Named President of LESLLA

Patsy Egan, ATLAS director in the School of Education, was recently elected the first president of Literacy Education and Second Language Learning for Adults (LESLLA). LESLLA is an international group of educators and scholars around teaching language to adult immigrants and refugees who do not read or write in their first languages. LESLLA brings together applied linguists, researchers, teachers, administrators, and policymakers to establish a multi-country and multi-target-language research group to study effective methods of language acquisition and literacy for adolescents and adults.
