Physics Student Wins Award at Regional Conference

Physics students from Dr. Lifeng Dong’s lab Opeyemi Arogundade, Megan Brennan, and Mohamed Mohamed recently presented their summer research projects at the American Vacuum Society of Minnesota Annual Symposium. They represented Hamline University at the conference, and Arogundade won the Best Undergraduate Poster Presentation Award for his project titled, “Design and Fabrication of Photonic Crystals for Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy.” The research projects are financially supported by the Malmstrom Endowment Fund, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Hamline Summer Collaborative Research Fund, and the Department of Physics.
