Swenson Presents at Southwest Philosophical Society

Visiting Lecturer of Philosophy Joe Swenson gave a talk titled "Dewey’s Institutions of Aesthetic Experience" at the 79th Annual Meeting of the Southwestern Philosophical Society hosted by Baylor University. The paper defends John Dewey’s account of aesthetic experience against criticisms that it cannot accommodate conceptual artworks like Marcel Duchamp’s "Fountain."  A version of the paper will also be published in the Southwest Philosophy Review.
