Hamline Hosts Delegation from Iraq

A delegation of educators and religious leaders from Kurdistan, Iraq were hosted by members of the Hamline community on Tuesday, August 15. The delegation was on campus to learn about how religious tolerance is taught in diverse schools and communities, and how religious freedoms are protected. Hamline participants in the conversation were President Fayneese Miller, College of Liberal Arts Professor Mark Berkson, Hamline School of Education Professors Letitia Basford, Michelle Benegas, Ann Mabbott, and Amy Stolpestad, and College of Liberal Arts student Bashir Imady. They were joined by principal Bobbie Johnson from Hamline Elementary, Amir Malik from the Council on American Islamic Relations, and Sadaf Rauf and Joan Haan from the St. Paul Interfaith Network.
