Coming Out Week Events

Starting with a Coming Out Week Vigil on National Coming Out Day, Spectrum and the Office of Sexualities and Gender Diversity are hosting a series of events for National Coming Out Week. The entire Hamline community is invited to attend these events and show their support. You can find details below:

Coming Out Week Vigil
7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, in the Bush Chapel
On National Coming Out Day everyone is invited to come together and share coming out stories, support one another, and find community.

Resilience is Resistance: Living into our Power as LGBTQ+ Change Agents
7-9 p.m. on Thursday, October 12 in Anderson 111
Come immerse yourself in Saby Labor’s keynote address: “Resilience is Resistance: Living into our Power as LGBTQ+ Change Agents.”

Coming Out Week Photoshoot
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 16 in the Anderson Center Lobby
Wear some queer-gear and grab some props for Spectrum’s Photoshoot, celebrating Coming Out Week with a flash!

Coming Out Week Self-Care
4:15-5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17 in GLC 110w
Spectrum will be devoting its normal meeting time into a space to relax, take a break from the hectic first weeks of the semester, and enjoy friends and snacks.

Queer Sex Ed
7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18 in Anderson 111
For the sex education you didn’t get in highschool, come to Queer Sex Ed and learn everything you wanted to know about having sex while queer.

Professional Cabaret
8:30-11 p.m. on Friday, October 20 in Anderson 111
End National Coming Out Week with the Professional Caberet where you can see a variety of queer performers.
