ArtSpace Open in Osborn

The Hamline University ArtSpace is now open for student use in Osborn Residence Hall. ArtSpace provides musical instruments including four acoustic guitars, two electronic keyboards, and various hand percussion instruments and art supplies for painting, drawing, and sketching on paper and canvas free of charge to all Hamline students. Residents of Osborn have direct access to the space; residents of other residence halls or off-campus commuting students can access ArtSpace through their ID cards by arrangement with the Office of Res Life.

The opening night mural painting event held on Sunday September 10 was attended by some 40 students, faculty, and staff who enjoyed music by Ibaba, treats provided by the Office of Residential Life, and art supplies donated by the Department of Studio Arts & Art History. ArtSpace is a collaborative effort for all Hamline students provided by the Division of Fine Arts, which included the departments of studio arts & art history, theatre, music, creative writing, and digital media arts, and the Office of Residential Life.

Please contact Javier Gutierrez, assistant dean of students and director residential life, or Aida Audeh, professor of art history, for further information.
