Hamline Selected to Host Truth and Transformation Media Conference

Hamline University has been selected to host and help organize training for the media on racial equity in an event called Truth and Transformation: Changing Racial Narratives in Media. The Saint Paul and Minnesota Community Foundations awarded a $250,000 grant for the planning of this event to six partner organizations: Minnesota Public Radio, KMOJ/89.9 Radio, The Minnesota Humanities Center, Pillsbury United Communities, ThreeSixty Journalism, and Hamline University.

The work done by the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Campus Center at Hamline University was a large part of the reason Hamline has been selected to host the event. Staff and faculty will bring learnings from the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Institute with the AAC&U to the planning of the two-day statewide media conference in 2019.

This grant has received press coverage from Kare 11, Star Tribune, and Pioneer Press. You can learn more on the Saint Paul and Minnesota Community Foundations website.
