Hamline Joins UN Environmental Partnership

Hamline's Master of Arts in Education: Natural Science and Environmental Education (MAEd:NSEE) has been selected to join the United Nations Global Universities Partnership on Environment and Sustainability (GUPES). The addition of the NSEE program to the partnership after a rigorous selection process represents Hamline's commitment to environmental education on a global scale. The UN-based worldwide network of universities shares the common goal of addressing sustainability and environment concerns through research, curriculum, and community engagement. The mission of GUPES is to promote the mainstreaming of environment and sustainability practices and curricula into universities by supporting innovative approaches to education.

The Global Universities Partnership on Environment for Sustainability was established on 19 November 2010 put into effect by the United Nations Environment Program. Only 10 universities in North America have become members of GUPES.
