President Miller Elected NAC&U Executive Committee Officer

At its recent meeting in June at Valparaiso University, The New American Colleges and Universities (NAC&U) board of directors elected President Fayneese Miller as an executive committee officer for the 2017-18 fiscal year.

“We are grateful to have such a respected group of leaders dedicated to the NAC&U mission who will continue to develop our collaborative opportunities,” said Nancy Hensel, president of NAC&U. “All of their institutions are stellar examples of the NAC&U approach to higher education, and in fact, two of their campuses – Hamline University and North Central College – were founding members of NAC&U.”

For more than 20 years, NAC&U institutions have come together to forge collaborations that enrich faculty work and improve student outcomes. Its constituency groups gather regularly to share best practices and consult with one another to enhance institutional effectiveness, allowing its members to address challenges head-on with the knowledge and support of peers. Together NAC&U members are committed to promoting the best practices of the purposeful integration of liberal arts, professional studies, and civic engagement. To achieve this, a significant percentage of students at NAC&U institutions are engaged in community-based learning, undergraduate research, or other forms of experiential learning.
