Exit Counseling and Repayment
Exit
Counseling is required of all students who borrow Federal loans and are
no longer enrolled or enrolled below half-time status. In addition it
is required from all students who receive a TEACH Grant and are no
longer enrolled.
Tools for Successful Student Loan Repayment
Your loan provider(s) will contact you
regarding repayment. Hamline has compiled a list of excellent resources
designed to help you manage and successfully repay your student loan
debt:
- Financial Awareness Counseling
– This interactive site from the U.S. Department of Education provides
tools and information to help you understand your financial aid and
assist you in managing your finances.
- StudentAid.gov is the U.S. Department of Education's central database for
student aid. This site can help you keep track of all the federal financial
aid you have received in your lifetime, and manage your student loans.
- Repayment Plans & Calculators
– The U.S. Department of Education offers information and calculators
about the different loan repayment options that are available to you.
UNDERGRADUATE, POST BACCALAUREATE, ONLINE BACHELOR'S DEGREE COMPLETION, AND TEACHING LICENSURE
Half-time*: At least 6 credits per semester.
Full-time: At least 12 credits per semester.
State Grant: At least 15 credits per semester for full award.
MASTER, GRADUATE CERTIFICATES, AND DOCTORATE PROGRAMS
Half-time*: At least 4 credits per semester.
Full-time: At least 8 credits per semester.
