Favorite College Activity: One thing that makes Hamline unique is its location in the bustling and diverse Midway area. There are so many delicious restaurants to choose from! Some of my best memories from college were trying new places to eat with friends, and falling in love with little “hole in the wall” joints. On campus, I loved attending any event put on by the Wesley Center for Spirituality, Service and Social Justice. They have a wide variety of events, and the conversations are always invigorating!

Interesting Fact: I have what’s known as Grapheme-Color Synesthesia; a harmless genetic condition that makes my senses communicate in unique ways, allowing me to experience numbers and letters in color! Synesthesia is pretty rare, affecting about one out of every five thousand people. For the longest time, I would struggle to convince my family and friends that the letter “A” should always be written in yellow, and that the number “7” is always green to me. Needless to say, I am quite skilled at word searches!

Why I love Hamline: Being a Hamline alum, I like to say that “nobody at Hamline ever told me no”. Students who want to get involved will find support in every corner of campus! Hamline is the epitome of a supportive and inclusive community and it’s easy to feel right at home. There are so many incredible opportunities for you to grow, learn, and have fun! Our professors and staff are some of the most dedicated people I have ever met; they really care about their students’ well-being outside of the classroom!
