Dave Ryan is an assistant professor of digital media arts in Hamline University's College of Liberal Arts. He has an extensive background in teaching and in making digital media as art. He has received grants from prestigious organizations such as the McKnight Foundation, Bush Foundation and MacDowell Art Colony. His work has been featured at numerous exhibitions including “The American Century” at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New York Video Festival at the Lincoln Center in New York City and the Locarno Video Art Festival in Switzerland. Ryan holds a BA in communications and theatre arts from Taylor University and an MFA in film from Ohio University.

Students taking a class with Professor Ryan will learn to create art with digital media through hands-on training, creative exercises, and study of conceptual foundations.
