Mythbusting Spirituality in Queer Communities
Join Sexualities and Gender Diversity Programming for a presentation and discussion tackling the misconceptions and complexities of queer spirituality and the present role of queer people in religious communities.
With centuries-long conflict surrounding the repression and traumatization of queer people through religious structures, the idea that queer people and religion are incompatible is becoming more and more established. In the face of the increasing mistrust of religious institutions within the queer community, what can the history of queerness in religion teach us about the way that queer people may experience faith and religious community today?
