The ELM Project Summit
In order to extend the impact of The ELM Institute, an annual ELM
Project Summit is held in late summer. The gathering will be an
opportunity for ELM coaches to share how mainstream classroom teachers
are using the skills they have acquired in their classrooms. Partner
site ELM coaches and school administrators will then report back to
colleagues, sharing experience implementing best practices across
schools and districts. At the ELM Project Summit, ELM coaches, who are
paid for their time, will provide data from the observation forms, which
the ELM Project Team will use for analysis and curriculum revision.
This ELM Project initiative stands to improve ELs’ comprehension of
content and development of academic English, and qualifies mainstream
teachers for re-licensure under the mandates of the LEAPS Act.
