    Welcome New Students

    Welcome to your new graduate/licensure program in Hamline’s School of Education (HSE).  As a new student, you are about to begin a challenging and rewarding educational experience. Your experience will be led by faculty and staff with rich backgrounds in education and student service. Whether you are starting an initial licensure program, a master's degree, or returning to HSE to earn a certificate or a doctorate, we’re here to support you and to help navigate your Hamline experience.

    Checklist for New Students

    • Access Piperline (sign online disclosure) & Hamline email.  Please make sure you are able to access our intranet, Piperline. Your Hamline email address will be the main point of contact for important information from Hamline. Be sure to check this account regularly. For assistance with Piperline or email access, please contact our ITS Help Desk at 651.523.2220 or csd@hamline.edu.
    • Register for classes.  If you have not already done so, please register for your first semester courses. For assistance with course selection, email or call the staff contact listed in your welcome letter.
    • Apply for Financial Aid.  If you intend to apply for aid, be sure to contact our Financial Aid office at 651.523.3000 or finaid@hamline.edu. How to Apply for Financial Aid at Hamline.
    • Visit Public Safety. (on campus students)  Our Public Safety Office, located in Sorin Hall, provides you with your Hamline ID card. Parking permits are also available at the Anderson Center front desk.  You may reach them at 651.523.2100 or security@hamline.edu.
    • Purchase your books.  The Hamline Bookstore lists the required books for all scheduled courses.
