    Program Welcome

Welcome to the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program. The HSE staff and faculty are here to ensure that you have all the program information and resources necessary to be a successful MAT student.

Upon admission, you will work with a staff advisor to review curriculum for your license area and develop a personalized program planner for your use as you proceed through your program.  In addition to program and contact information, the advising page provides links to forms and documents you may need during your time as an MAT student.

    Clinical Experience/Student Teaching
The Office of Clinical Experience purposefully bridges the content and course work Hamline School of Education and Leadership students gain in the classroom with meaningful and positive clinical experiences in neighboring schools and school districts.

Obtaining your initial teaching license requires components beyond course work and clinical experience. Our license officer works with students to navigate the licensing process.
