• Coaches/Volunteers

The Hamline Mock Trial program has a variety of coaches and volunteers that assist students throughout the season.

    Kelly Rodgers-Mock Trial Director/Head Coach
My Mock Trial experience extends back to high school and I continued to compete at Hamline both in undergrad and throughout law school on a local and national level. In fact, during my third year of law school, my partner and I were regional champions and represented Hamline at the National Tournament. After law school I practiced in a volume based collections firm, constantly appearing in Court putting my mock trial skills to use on a daily basis. Yet, I quickly realized that my passion is coaching and teaching. I am driven to provide an experience to the Hamline students that I was fortunate enough to have with regard to education as well as co-curriculars and athletics. GO PIPERS!
    Mike Covart- Assistant Coach
I was a member of Hamline University's mock trial program for four years, serving as co-captain in my junior and senior year. Once I graduated, I continued to serve as a volunteer judge in tournaments each year until this year, when I became an assistant coach. I graduated from William Mitchell College of Law and currently work in Anti-Money Laundering/Bank Secrecy Act compliance at a financial institution. My involvement in college mock trial contributed significantly to the development of communication and critical thinking skills which have been incredibly valuable in my post-college experience. I enjoyed my participation in college immensely, and am very happy to be a part of the Hamline mock trial program once again.
