    *Applications are processed on a rolling basis. Applications submitted and files completed after deadlines are reviewable if space permits and enough time exists for a file review and interview to be conducted prior to orientation. International Students are strongly encouraged to submit all application materials by the priority application deadlines. 

    Application Process

    To apply for admission to the Master's of Public Administration degree program, please submit the following:

    • Online application (no fee for U.S. residents).
    • Two-page personal statement detailing:
      • why you have chosen Hamline University;
      • how this program will help you meet your career goals; and
      • what policy areas interest you and why.
    • Professional résumé or curriculum vitae.
    • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate work. If your transcripts are in a language other than English, you must submit both the original and an official or a certified course by course English translation. The Hamline University School of Business reserves the right to require applicants to have their academic records evaluated by an academic credential evaluator.
    • Two letters of recommendation written by people, unrelated to you, familiar with your academic and/or professional history that detail your specific qualifications to pursue advanced study.
    • Writing sample of your academic or work-related writing, at least three pages in length, written solely by you in the last two years.
