What is Blackboard? Blackboard Learn is a learning management system that can be used for supplementation of face-to-face instruction as well as for hybrid and online courses. It contains spaces for content to be stored, as well as many tools to help enrich the learning experience. Blackboard Course Archive Scheduled for September 30 On September 30, Hamline ITS will begin archiving Blackboard courses created before January 1, 2013 in order to improve performance in our Blackboard environment. This process will allow Blackboard to perform more efficient maintenance, which could lead to shorter scheduled down time when system upgrades are applied. Setting Up Your Hamline Blackboard Course All Blackboard courses are based on a standard template. Courses are created 90 days before the start of the new term. It is recommended that at a minimum, you add your contact information, post your syllabus, and make the course available to your students. It is highly encouraged that you explore and utilize the tools that Blackboard have to offer to provide your students with a more engaging and enriching experience. Blackboard Tutorials Search the Blackboard Knowledgebase Folder to find Hamline specific Blackboard tutorials that offer step-by-step instructions surrounding Blackboard Learn. Or, search the Lynda.com Blackboard playlists for video tutorials on using Blackboard. You can also refer to The Official Blackboard Help Site to search for specific topics.
