Kris Norman-Major Recognized with Professional Leadership Award

Kris Norman-Major, professor and director of public administration programs in the Hamline School of Business, has been awarded the Joan Fiss Bishop Award by the American Society for Public Administration, Section on Women in Public Administration. Norman-Major will be honored at the organization’s National Conference in April 2020.

She is being recognized for her work with the Women in Public Service Annual Conference and Seminars and the establishment of the Ruby Hunt Endowed Scholarship in Public Administration at Hamline.

The Joan Fiss Bishop Leadership Award, established in 1985, recognizes an honoree's impact on women's lives through the promotion of increased participation of women in the public service profession. Awardees have exhibited a defined contribution to increased involvement in the public sector, shown innovative leadership and accomplished professionalism in a public service career, and made a commitment to the profession through current or past American Society for Public Administration membership.

The next Women in Public Service (WIPS) seminar is titled Expanding Your Leadership Story and will take place on February 20, 2020. Registration is open. Learn more here.
