Annual PAA Golf Tournament A Rousing Success

New HU athletic director Jason Verdugo has spent the last six weeks making the rounds on campus talking to people to get a feel for his new role. On June 18, he had his first chance to meet and greet an equally important constituency -- the school's many athletic alums and supporters. On June 18, nearly 100 golfers, ranging from basketballers Jim Boyd, Class of '43 to Carl Hipp, just one year out of school, came out to Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater, Minn. to play under clear skies and hear Verdugo talk about the future of the school's athletic programs at the annual Piper Athletic Association (PAA) event. The enthusiastic attendees came away with a variety of prizes and mingled with coaches from several sports who either played or ran promotions at various holes on the sun-splashed course.
