Blazers take win in MIAC opener

The Blazers took the match by set scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-15.

Saint Benedict took early leads, and maintained them, in all three sets. Down 21-10 in the opening set, the Pipers put together a string of six points, including three kills from Molly Schroeder (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.).

Schroeder led the Pipers with nine kills in the match. Heidi Larsen (Sr., Andover, Minn.) had 12 digs to lead Hamline defensively.

The Pipers are now 5-5, 0-1 MIAC and the Blazers are 4-6, 1-0 MIAC. Hamline will return to Saint Benedict this weekend to play four matches in the Holiday Inn-vitational. On Friday, September 17, the Pipers will play the University of Minnesota-Morris at 3:00 p.m. and St. Olaf at 5:00 p.m.
