Secondary Licenses: Chemistry
Chemistry majors pursuing a MN teaching license at the 9-12 level may complete the course requirements for either a BS or BA in Chemistry. In addition, students must also complete the education department
courses required for a Minnesota teaching license.
The required education and content courses for a MN 9-12 teaching license
in Chemistry and Physical Science are listed below. Please be aware that additional content courses are required for the Physics major. All teaching
candidates are advised that completion of the program within a four-year time
frame requires careful planning. Please seek
early advising from the School of Education and Leadership to plan your program.
If you wish to add a 5-8 General Science license, work with your advisor to determine what additional coursework and student teaching you will need to complete.
