Professor Deb Mackay practiced construction law at the Minneapolis firm of Faegre & Benson from 1995-2009. She graduated cum laude from Hamline Law in 1995. She is originally from England and obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees from Cambridge University. She has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota since 2008, and now teaches at several other schools in the Twin Cities. She is the author of numerous publications, including Minnesota Real Estate Law, Mechanic’s Lien chapter (with co-author) (West 2003 and later eds.). She is a past president of the Construction Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
