My Logitech wireless mouse died yesterday. While alive, it worked fine
within NB. After a very moving memorial service, I purchased a Microsoft
Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000. The new mouse works splendidly in every
context except within NB files, within which it works hardly at all. (What I
observe fits Bob Bain's description.)

Ralph,
I had a very similar problem with a wireless notebook mouse that I was using
on my desktop. I do not know if that is what *you* are doing but Logitech'
solution was to attach the receiver component directly to a computer port as
opposed to one of the ports in the splitter or whatever those USB multi-port
extensions are called. That solved the problem.
Barrie.
