Dear NBers,
I have a new Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S7020.
There are some things I don't like about the keyboard.
Mainly: At the top right corner there is the Pause/Break key and to its left the Delete
key. I often hit the former instead of the latter, and it does weird things in NB and
other programs.
I have a similar problem with the left Shift key. It is too far to the left. But next to
it there is a useless key, marked |\ (vertical line and backslash) which replicates the
same key near the Enter. This is the key I often hit instead of the shift key.
Ideally, I would like to do 2 simple things: to make both neighboring keys do the same
function, i.e. configure the Pause/Break key to be the Delete key (in addition to its
neighbor) and to configure the |\ replicator to be a shift key (ditto). Minimally, I
would like to do it for NB, maximally for the computer at large.
I have some questions:
1. Does the Pause/Break key have any important function that should prevent me from
configuring it.
2. For NB configuration: how do I find out the key-number for those keys?
3. For general configuration: What's a good (free?) keyboard configuration program?
Thanks
Roni
