RE: Inserting ASCII via decimal numbers

Mervyn,

You need to use Ctrl+Shift+nnn to enter ASCII code numbers. Try it, it should work on all
recent versions.

Subject: Inserting ASCII via decimal numbers

Mary mentioned the other day using Shift+Alt+nnn to insert characters.

I can't do this, Mary, and this is a nuisance. I'm using v x at home, y at
the univ. It worked in previous versions. I can't get any response either
from the numbers in the man keyboard or from the number pad on the right.

Incidentally, someone drew my attention to ASCIIcat.... I use it a lot and
strongly recommend it. I have to resort to cut and paste from it in the
absence of the keyboard facility. Is there a keyboard driver issue, perhaps?
